John Bentley

£1000 - £2000

One of the few players to have crossed into both codes of rugby, both with equal success. Gives a very interesting and funny after dinner speech about his British Lions exploits.

When representing the British Lions on tour of South Africa in 1997, he made the most appearances (8) and finished as top try scorer on the tour with 7 tries.

He is also the only player to have played rugby union at international level, then turned to professional rugby league before returning to RU and representing England once more.

John is also the author of two books; Lions Uncaged and his Autobiography, and is still heavily involved in Rugby, as a regular radio and TV pundit, and coach to his old team, Cleckheaton RUFC
