Steve Parry enjoyed a career spanning over 10 years, winning 11 major medals and becoming one of the greatest British swimmers ever.
Steve competed in the 200m Butterfly, against the swimming sensation Michael Phelps. In this race Parry became 1 of only 3 people to ever beat Michael Phelps in his semi-final swim, landing him the centre lane for the final. The final was extremely close and Parry finished in 3rd place with a new British and Commonwealth Record.
In 2004 Steve retired at the top of his game after winning a Bronze medal in the 2004 Athens Olympics. He is now Managing Director of Total Swimming, a company set up to encourage widespread participation in the sport, as well as being a huge success on the after dinner circuit. A story from the heart about turning failure into success.
