Dean is the most capped Rugby Union number 8 in the world and one of only three men to have ever played for England in three World Cups. He played in 48 Internationals, including being in 3 world cup squads, also appearing for the Lions in 6 test matches in 1989 and 1993.
Whether through unprecedented skill or sheer luck, Dean always seemed to be in the right place at the right time... In line with the ball. Dean's outstanding leadership qualities enabled him to get the best from his colleagues in tough situations.
After his retirement in 1998 Dean took on the position as Director of Leicester Tigers and has since achieved 2 Allied Dunbar Championships with them.
